Controller
Goldshire Gadgets, 8 Springlawn Close, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, D15 KT2T, Ireland. Registered business name number 771479. Contact: info@goldshiregadgets.com.
We process personal data for our own purposes as controller: website visitors, trade enquiries, customer contacts, supplier contacts and carriers. Because our customers are businesses, most data we hold is business contact data rather than data about private individuals.
We have not appointed a statutory Data Protection Officer; privacy questions are handled by the proprietor at the address above.
What we process, why, and on what legal basis
Website visitors. IP address (truncated where possible), device and browser data, pages visited, referrer. Purpose: security, availability and — with your consent — analytics. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) for security; consent (Article 6(1)(a)) for non-essential cookies.
Quote and contact requests. Name, company, email, and the product list or bill of materials you send us. Purpose: preparing a quote and answering your request. Legal basis: pre-contractual necessity (Article 6(1)(b)) and legitimate interest.
Orders, delivery and invoicing. Company name, VAT number, contact details, delivery address, site contact, order and payment data. Purpose: performing the contract of sale, arranging carriage and meeting statutory bookkeeping obligations. Legal basis: contract (Article 6(1)(b)) and legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
Credit accounts. Trade references and credit-check results for customers requesting credit terms. Legal basis: pre-contractual necessity and legitimate interest in managing credit risk.
Marketing. Business email address and product interests for stock and price updates. Legal basis: consent, or the soft opt-in for existing customers. Every message contains a one-click unsubscribe.
Recipients and processors
We share personal data only where necessary: hosting and infrastructure providers, email and accounting tooling, analytics, carriers and freight forwarders delivering your order, manufacturers and distributors fulfilling a special order, payment providers, credit reference agencies and our accountants. Each processor is bound by a data processing agreement with confidentiality, security and sub-processor obligations. We never sell personal data.
International transfers
Our default is processing inside the European Economic Area. Where a provider processes data outside the EEA, the transfer relies on an adequacy decision such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses combined with a transfer impact assessment and supplementary measures. A copy of the relevant safeguards is available on request.
Retention
Invoices and accounting records: 6 years, as required by Irish tax and company law. Customer contracts and order files: 6 years after completion. Quote and contact requests without a resulting order: 24 months. Credit assessment records: 6 years. Cookie consent records: 12 months. Server and security logs: up to 12 months.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing. Send your request to info@goldshiregadgets.com; we respond within one month and may ask for proof of identity in a data-minimising way. If you are not satisfied you may lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission (21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28) or the supervisory authority of your habitual residence.
Cookies
Our use of cookies and similar techniques, including the consent categories and how to change or withdraw your choice, is described in the cookie policy.
Security and breaches
We apply TLS in transit, access control on a need-to-know basis, least-privilege credentials, logging and regular review of processors. Personal data breaches are assessed without delay and, where required, reported to the Data Protection Commission within 72 hours and to affected individuals where the risk is high.
Changes
We may update this statement to reflect changes in our business or the law. Material changes are announced on this page; the version date is shown at the top.
